Holiday accommodation in Lerryn, Cornwall
The village of Lerryn in South Cornwalllies on the banks of the River Lerryn just a few miles from the small town of Lostwithiel. The river, a tributary of the Fowey, is tidal and at low tide can be crossed by means of the stepping stones from the village.
The countryside surrounding Lerryn is made up of beautiful woodlands and much of it is now protected as an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is thought that the river and woods of Lerryn may have been the inspiration for Kenneth Grahame’s The Wind in the Willows.
To the south of Lerryn is the coast where the beautiful village of Polruan sits high above the river mouth at Fowey. Also, visit the National Trust managed Lantic Bay and Lansallos Beach. There’s no traffic in the quaint village of Polperro and it’s but a small, short ferry ride from Polruan to Fowey for oodles of places to shop, eat and drink.
