The sweet little hamlet of Little Petherick, or Nansfenten as it is known in Cornish, is situated in the wooded valley of Little Petherick Creek, a tributary of the River Camel - the creek is tidal as far as the village. Being just a few miles from Padstow, Little Petherick is a great location from which to explore the North Cornwall coast and the many opportunities for walking, surfing, and other activities that it offers. Just 2 miles south of Padstow and 6 miles west of Wadebridge, you won’t have far to go for some great shops, cafés and restaurants, especially seafood restaurants such as the renowned Rick Stein chain. The hamlet is steeped in history, with the local church - dedicated to St Petroc - a Grade I listed building, having originally been built in the 14th century, and several mills, a couple of whose waterwheels are still working today.
Walkers will love this area as there is lots of great walking and hiking available, including the 27-mile Saint’s Way which starts in Padstow, passing through Little Petherick and finishing in the fishing village of Fowey in the south. You can also access the Camel Trail, for both walking and excellent cycling. Bring your walking boots or bike one of our Little Petherick holiday cottages and start your outdoors adventure in Cornwall now.
