Self-catering holiday cottages in Minster Lovelly

Situated on the banks of the River Windrush, the charming village of Minster Lovell enjoys a beautiful location close to Witney in Oxfordshire. Our holiday cottages in Minster Lovell are well-placed for exploring the rolling beauty of the Cotswolds with all its epic scenery and picture-perfect villages and country towns – not to mention the historic city of Oxford which is only 16 miles away, with its mass of places of historical interest. Here you can walk the alleys and cloisters of the Oxford University buildings to feel like a scholar, or venture to the Pitts River Museum for a great afternoon of exploration into the past.

This picturesque village with its cottages of Cotswold stone and thatched roofs is most known for its atmospheric 15th-century ruins of Minster Lovell Hall - famed for allegedly being the place the ninth Lord Lovell’s remains were found in an underground room. This is a wonderful spot for a picnic, before enjoying long countryside rambles by the river and through the surrounding wildflower meadows. There are several traditional inns within walking distance of our self-catering Minster Lovell accommodation where you can tuck into hearty local fare and ales after your jaunt.
