Situated at the crossroads of the famous Roman Fosse Way road, Moreton-in-Marsh is an ancient traveller’s town which retains much of its original charm. With its historic buildings boasting honey-coloured stonework and a bustling weekly market every Tuesday, there’s plenty to see and do during a stay in one of our Moreton-in-Marsh cottages. The town lies at the north-eastern edge of Gloucestershire in the Cotswolds and is surrounded by lush green hills, with magnificent old oak trees lining the roads in and out of the town.
Our Moreton-in-Marsh holiday cottages are a perfect escape for those who appreciate a little retail therapy, with all manner of independent shops, boutiques and art galleries to browse, as well as quaint little tearooms to stop for a spot of afternoon tea. Don’t miss the popular Cotswold Cheese Co. where you can pick up the perfect slice of cheddar to take back to your self-catering accommodation. You’ll also find a wealth of unique attractions nearby our cottages in Moreton-in-Marsh, including Batsford Arboretum, the Cotswold Falconry Centre, Chastleton House, and the 9-foot-tall Four Shire Stone – thought to be the inspiration behind JRR Tolkien’s Three-Farthing Stone in his books The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
