Holidays in Much Wenlock

Much Wenlock is a small town in Shropshire, situated on the main road between Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth. Much Wenlock was originally the principal town of the ancient borough of Wenlock, found as long ago as the year 680 around a monastery of Mercian monks.

There is much to see and do around the area. The town includes an excellent museum, and just to the west lies the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A few miles to the north east you can find the UNESCO Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, including the famous 18th century iron bridge across the River Severn.
