Self-catering holiday cottages in Port William

Relax in one of our holiday lets in the peaceful harbour village of Port William in Scotland. Set on the eastern shore of Luce Bay in Galloway, this beautiful example of a planned village was founded by Sir William Maxwell of Monreith in 1770. The harbour, now a haven for leisure craft, was one of the first to be built in western Galloway and boasts a proud fishing heritage. Whatever time of year you visit, you'll find lots of things to do near our Port William cottages. Tuck into a delicious paper-wrapped portion of fish and chips on a bracing walk along the harbour, enjoy a round of golf at the nine-hole course at Monreith, stargaze in the dark skies of the Galloway Forest Park, and admire spectacular views of the Isle of Man and Ireland from Port William’s shoreline.

There are a host of exciting attractions to visit near our holiday cottages in Port William, including Monreith Animal World, Gem Rock Museum, and Laggan Outdoor where you can try archery, zorbing or mountain boarding. This part of Scotland is also brimming with gorgeous sandy beaches, as well as the rolling countryside of the Galloway Machars, so there are lots of opportunities for walking, cycling and wildlife watching. And when you need to stop for a bite to eat, there is a lovely selection of shops and places to eat in the village. So, if you fancy a picture-postcard holiday along Scotland’s wild coast, book a stay in our self-catering accommodation in Port William.
