Holiday cottages & self-catering accommodation in Putsborough, Devon
Surf’s up at Putsborough – this beloved surfing beach in Devonnow forms part of the protected coastline that makes up the North Devon World Surfing Reserve, so there aren’t many places on the globe that are better for a surfing holiday. Our Putsborough cottages overlook Putsborough Sands, which stretches 3 miles north to join up with Woolacombe and shares the same characteristic golden sands as its northern neighbour. Despite having fewer amenities than Woolacombe, Putsborough is sheltered from south-westerly winds by the iconic landmass of Baggy Point and therefore draws surfers from all over, all year round.
When you’re surfed out, there’s plenty to see and do in North Devon close to our Putsborough holiday cottages. Walk the South West Coast Path north to Woolacombe or south to Croyde, both boasting cafes, pubs and shops. Further north is Ilfracombe with the iconic Verity statue and plenty more places to eat and drink. Or head inland to Barnstaple, the capital of North Devon, with its high-street shops, cultural and leisure facilities, and the famous Pannier Market and Butchers’ Row where you can sample some local cuisine.
