Our delightful dales holiday cottages in Reeth nestle on the northern edge of the Dales, where Arkengarthdale and Swaledale meet. Tucked between Calver Hill, Fremington Edge and Harkside is the much-loved village of Reeth where you can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding countryside from the pretty village green.
The village itself boasts a warm, friendly community with a good range of village shops, ice-cream parlours, tearooms and workshops selling specialist arts and crafts. There is also a museum and traditional coaching inns white washed like so many of the pretty stone-built 18th century cottages.
It’s just a short drive from Richmond so a Reeth cottage makes a perfect base for exploring this popular market town and you can also take a stroll along the River Swale to the nearby village of Grinton. Other Swaledale villages worth visiting that are easily reach from a Reeth Cottage include Low Row where you’ll find a rather good gastro pub in the form of The Punch Bowl Inn, and Muker where you can see wonderful wildflower meadows during the spring.
The hilly countryside around Reeth makes it a great choice for mountain biking and each July the village hosts the Ard Rock festival which is one of the UK leading mountain bike festival. For some Yorkshire Dales cycling that the whole family can enjoy, try the Swale Trail which is a valley-bottom route from Reeth to Keld.
Just down the road from our attractive Reeth holiday cottages in North Yorkshire you will find endless outdoor adventure opportunities. Our Yorkshire Dales holiday cottages in Reeth are the ideal base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, whether you choose to explore the cliffs, caves, mountains, waterfalls or the network of cycle trails and footpaths that surround the area, with spectacular views, natural attractions and rich heritage right across the dales.
