Roche is a village in North Cornwall,, named after a large granite outcrop to the east of the settlement. Roche Rock stands 66 feet high and incorporates the ruins of an old chapel, with various myths and legends attributed to it. Today Roche is a fairly large village, served by a railway station on the Atlantic Coast Line from Newquay to Par. Just to the west of the village is the Goss Moor National Nature Reserve, containing a great diversity of plants, birds and small creatures.
