Known worldwide as the ‘home of golf’ along with Scotland’s oldest university (where Wills met Kate), St Andrews is a town on the east coast of Fife in Scotland. The town is named after the patron saint of Scotland and is an important tourist centre for those interested in the small-ball game, though there’s plenty on offer for those who are not. In addition to the countless golf courses scattered around the area, there are many attractions surrounding our holiday cottages in St Andrews such as St Andrews Cathedral, St Andrews Castle, Scotland’s Secret Bunker and St Andrews Botanic Garden, plus all the local amenities you could possibly need to make your St Andrews break a comfortable one.
From our St Andrews cottages, you can tee off at the hallowed Old Course, the world’s most famous golf links which regularly hosts The Open Championship or pay a visit to the British Golf Museum which shares over 500 years of golfing history. If you fancy a traditional bucket and spade day, West Sands Beach is an idyllic stretch of golden sand made famous by the film ‘Chariots of Fire’. And if you enjoy walking, the Fife Pilgrim Way is a beautiful coastal trail to explore or you can make the most of the historic town’s cobbled streets and narrow alleyways peppered with medieval buildings and a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes. Browse our self-catering accommodation in St Andrews to soak up all the golf, royal history, and wildlife that this charming town has to offer.
