Holiday accommodation in St Erth

Found in West Cornwall, St Erth is a small village on the River Hayle a few miles south east of St Ives. The village marks the site of the oldest crossing over the river, the only alternative having been to cross the treacherous estuary sands. St Erth has a handy railway station that connects the village to Penzance a few miles away to the west, St Ives and connections up country. The Star Inn is a 15-century coaching inn at the very heart of the village that offered food and drink to travellers passing through, and the tradition continues to the present day.

St Erth is a great base to establish yourself for a holiday, if you want to explore the beaches at Hayle Towans and Gwithian in the north or Praa Sands and others in St Michael’s Bay to the south. Local visitor attractions include the astonishingly beautiful St Michael’s Mount, the Minack Theatre, St Ives Harbour, Tehidy Country Park and Godrevy Point. The shopping prospects at Penzance will keep bargain and antique hunters very happy too. Stay at one of our St Erth cottages and explore our collection of properties all across Cornwall.
