St Mabyn is a charming hilltop village in North Cornwall, a few miles to the east of the town of Wadebridge. It is named after the daughter of an ancient Welsh king, and a settlement in this area can be dated back many centuries. Nestled on the edge of Bodmin Moor and near the sparkling Cornish coast, this is a great base for those with a love of walking, nature and outdoor pursuits. At the centre of the village is the Grade I listed parish church, and amongst a huddle of characterful old cottages you will also find a handy village shop and an excellent 17th-century inn where you enjoy hearty meals and local ales after your adventures in the surrounding countryside.
From our St Mabyn holiday cottages there are plenty of options for days out. Head to the coast and explore the pretty fishing villages of Port Isaac, Looe and Padstow, or make the most of the sun, sand and surf of gorgeous Polzeath Beach. The popular attractions of the Eden Project, Bodmin and Wenford Railway and National Trust’s Lanhydrock are all nearby, perfect if you’re bringing the kids on holiday.
