Self-catering holidays & accommodation in Sedlescombe

Sedlescombe is a tiny village close to Battle, in the heart of the High Weald in Sussex. It is characterised by its sloping village green and the timber clad houses that encircle it. Some of the village green houses date back to the 15th century. The village has a few good amenities that includes a pub, a post office and a village shop.

Half a mile from the village green is the Church of St John the Baptist that still retains a seating plan dated 1632 that includes the names of local parishioners. Another place of historical interest close by is the town of Battle. As most people know this was the site of the Battle of Hastings and you can visit the field where the clash between the Normans and the Saxons took place. Our Sedlescombe holiday cottages are well-placed to explore the rest of East Sussex and beyond.
