Why not book a holiday cottage for a self-catering break in the Skudiburgh area of the Isle of Skye? We have lovely holiday cottages all across the Isle of Skye in Scotland for you to choose from. Skudiburgh is the name given to the area around Dun Skudiburgh, a Stone Age enclosure on the coast of the northern reaches of the Isle of Skye. The ruins of the former settlement at Dun Skudiburgh can still be seen and are believed to date back some 3,000 years. The nearest town to Skudiburgh is Uig, which can be found at the head of the sheltered inlet of Uig Bay, where you will be able to shop for all the supplies you need to make your holiday in this part of Scotland an enjoyable one. One of the best things to do is to the scale the hill to the ruins of Dun Skudiburgh; they occupy a gorgeous steep-sided hill above the shoreline of Loch Snizort. Also, walk to Ru Idrigill at the most northerly point of Uig Bay, from the top of the hill you will get to enjoy views of the Ascrib Islands, Waternish, and the Outer Hebrides. You can also see the 17-metre sea stack that stands next to the dun. The Stack of Skudiburgh is a great place for a photo opportunity.
