Our Threlkeld holiday cottages are ideal for couples, families, friends and larger groups seeking a secluded and relaxing spot in the northern part of the Lake District. Just outside the bustling Cumbrian market town of Keswick, Threlkeld cottages make a fabulous holiday base for keen walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. The range of welcoming holiday accommodation in Threlkeld includes beautifully renovated barns, spacious farmhouses, traditional stone-built buildings, and cosy bothies as well as a unique, imaginatively repurposed fire truck.
Set in the shadow of the fell of Blencathra, our attractive choice of Threlkeld self-catering cottages are ideal for exploring this picturesque region. Several lakes are within easy reach, including Ullswater to the south-east, Thirlmere to the south and both Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater in the east.
The village of Threlkeld dates back to Norse times and makes a lovely base for discovering the Eden Valley. The village has a couple of friendly pubs, with local attractions including the Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum.
Threlkeld is perfect for visiting Keswick, which is 4 miles to the west, and has a fantastic range of great places to eat and drink. Keswick is also home to landmarks and attractions including the Castlerigg Stone Circle, Keswick Climbing Wall, Derwent Pencil Museum, Keswick Adventure Centre and the Puzzling Place. Keswick also has a cinema and the Theatre by the Lake, nestled on the northern shore of Derwentwater. For climbers and fell walkers, local peaks include Skiddaw and Blencathra to the north and Helvellyn to the south.
