Indeed, its position on the Lizard Peninsula gives it an edge over many villages in England, as the climate, while not tropical, is certainly more temperate than many.

The village has a charming pub, a welcoming retreat after a day spent exploring the South Cornwall coast. There is also a village store, where you can post letters and buy essentials, and a few historical places of interest nearby, including Carne Beacon, Veryan Castle and Melinsey Mill, the latter also offering a small mill museum, craft shop and tearoom.
