Holidays in Whitley Bay

Just 10 miles from the city of Newcastle, Whitley Bay is on the north east coast of England. Although formerly in Northumberland it now forms part of the Tyne and Wear area. With a metro line linking Whitley Bay to the city this seaside town is a popular spot for holidaymakers looking for both a beach and city escape.

One of the most iconic landmarks in the town is the St Mary’s Island and lighthouse. The island is on the northern tip of the town and is tidal, so access is limited during high tide. The lighthouse is open to visitors during the year, however make sure you check the tide timetable prior to visiting.

If you’re on the search for a holiday destination where you can enjoy the beach, the city and a bit of sightseeing then our Whitley Bay cottages may be your perfect option!
