Holidays in Wigton

Wigton is a town a few miles north of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria. The town has had a market charter since 1262, and its town square is distinguished by its shape, a triangle. At its centre is a medieval fountain with a bronze pyramid. Built in the 1800s by George Moore, each side depicts an Act of Mercy. The town is also characterised by its architecture which features curious churches, and clock towers which you can discover on one of the town’s three urban walking trails.

Wigton is close to the Solway Coast, home to Maryport and Workington, both towns with a long history dating back to Roman times. The coast is lovely, offering sunsets over Solway Firth to Scotland. Take a daytrip to the Lake District National Park, climb one of its peaks or take a boat trip on Lake Ullswater. Stay in a holiday cottage in Wigton, we have enticing properties all across the town and the wider Cumbria and Lake District area. Whether you are looking for a romantic bolthole for two or a large townhouse for all the family, we have the holiday home in or around Wigton that’s just perfect for you.
