Self-catering holiday accommodation in Wittersham

Wittersham is a village on the Isle of Oxney in Kent. Once surrounded by water in ancient times, the village has a history dating back to the time of the Danes in the first century. Wittersham is a traditional style English village that enjoys panoramic views from its hilltop setting.

At the centre of Wittersham stands St John the Baptist’s Church, a 13th century church. For a hearty meal out try the popular gastropub called the Oxney Gourmet Pie & Burger Pub, that offers a good blend of the traditional with the slightly quirky. For a short walk, take a wander to Stocks Mill, an 18th century post mill, the tallest of its kind in Kent. Tours are available on Sunday afternoons throughout the summer.

Visit Rye to go antique hunting, Dungeness to see one of the world’s largest inhabited shingle banks, and the gorgeous sand dunes at Camber Sands for holiday frolics.
