Comfortable barn conversion property situated on the owner’s farm, just a mile away from Ottery St Mary’s town centre, and eight miles from the beach at Sidmouth.

The town of Ottery St Mary, on the outskirts of which this property is located, enjoys a fantastic location surrounded by countryside, and yet just a fifteen minute drive from the city of Exeter. ‘Ottery’ itself offers a range of independent shops, and a choice of eateries which pride themselves on serving the best of local produce. It is also quite unique, in that it still celebrates a number of traditional festivals, including Pixie day in June, and the Tar Barrells festival in November, where local men run through the town’s streets carrying flaming barrels of tar. The area surrounding the town has much to offer holiday makers, including the beach at Sidmouth, Wildwood Wildlife Park at Escot House, and Crealy Adventure Park.

This single storey property offers comfortable accommodation for four guests, who will immediately be able to make themselves at home, as soon as they enter the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This light filled space has comfortable sofa seating at one end of the room, with patio doors which lead out onto the decked patio, a TV and DVD. Behind this area, the dining area has a table seating four, beyond which is the spacious kitchen area with its oven and hob, microwave, undercounter fridge/freezer and washing machine. The property has two bedrooms, the first of which is a light and airy double room which enjoys countryside views, whilst the second bedroom is a cosy twin room. There is also a shower room with WC.

Outside, the property benefits from a fully enclosed decked patio, where guests will find a BBQ and garden furniture. This provides a fantastic place to sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and gaze over the fields where sheep and chicken roam. In fact, guests who would like to participate in farm life are able to make arrangements with the friendly owner, and help to collect eggs and to feed the resident lambs, depending on the season. There is ample off-road parking provided.

Delightful location, view and surroundings, and perfect for those with limited mobility. Lovely host who came over to welcome us when we arrived, and gave us some Gosford Farm tea when we left. Perfect accommodation for our needs - 2 elderly parents to cater for.

The location of the property is ideal for visiting all the main attractions. The owners extremely helpful without being intrusive. The views from the property over the adjoining fields excellent.

Great location and gorgeous views. Nice owners, on hand if needed. The hens were also amusing - be prepared for the cockerel waking you early! My son also enjoyed collecting the eggs. However the property itself, whilst being clean and functional, had a fridge which was far too small for a self-catering property - we eat a fair amount of fresh foodRead more and had to leave a lot out of the fridge, so it went off quickly. The bed was also small - I am 5'10 and my feet were hanging out if using a pillow! Hide
