Former lifeboatman’s cottage situated just a stone’s throw from the waterfront in the pretty fishing village of Appledore, in North Devon, within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

In Appledore, there are a number of shops, including a tempting deli serving a host of fresh local produce, which can be eaten in the onsite café or taken away. In the summer months, a ferry runs across the estuary of the River Torridge to the neighbouring village of Instow, which is home to the local yacht club, as well as lovely family friendly beach. Slightly further afield, the two mile wide sandy beach at Westward Ho! is within a five minute drive, as is the harbour town of Bideford, as well as The Big Sheep family fun park.

This well maintained property, the former lifeboatman’s house was once one of the most important addresses in the village, and has remained in the same family for over a hundred years, as such guests can be assured that much care and attention has been put into providing guests with a wonderful base from which to enjoy their holiday. The spacious lounge, with its bay window looking out to the estuary, offers a welcoming and relaxing space, with a Freesat TV, DVD and hi-fi for guests to enjoy. The kitchen/diner has a family dining table and is equipped with an oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. The property has five bedrooms, four of which enjoy splendid sea views. Three of these are located on the first floor, two of which are doubles, the other being a cosy single room. One of the doubles benefits from its own TV/DVD, whilst the other has an en-suite shower and WC. On the second floor, there are two further bedrooms, one with a 4’ double bed and the other a twin room, again with its own TV/DVD. The property’s bathroom, which is on the first floor has a bath with handheld shower and WC.

Outside, there is a pretty public garden to the front of the property, offering uninterrupted estuary views. As is typical in the village, there is no parking attached to the house, but local roadside parking is available nearby.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
