Beautiful 17th century fortified farmhouse, located on the stunning Hartland Peninsula in North Devon, with a private hot tub, direct access to breath-taking coastal walks and secluded beaches.

Hartland Peninsula is ideal for those who enjoy country walks, as there are miles of walks available direct from the property’s front door, including access to the South West Coastal Path, with its clifftop views. There is a secluded beach just a one mile walk from the property, however if you want to enjoy a traditional day at the beach, with soft sand and a range of facilities, the family-friendly beaches of Westward Ho! and Bude are both within fifteen miles of the property. Although the property feels remote, the charming village of Hartland is less than two miles away, offering a range of shops and eateries.

This property occupies one wing of an unusual 17th century fortified farmhouse, which has been lovingly cared for over the years and maintains some lovely original features alongside modern conveniences. On entering the property, guests come first to the spacious hallway with its attractive tiled floor and a small desk, perfect if guests need to catch up with emails whilst on holiday. A door from the hallway leads to the property’s lounge, a relaxing retreat with deep sofas, cosy throws, a TV/DVD with Freeview and a warming wood burner-effect electric fire. Another door off the hallway brings guests to the spacious kitchen/diner, an attractive mix of old and new, where the inglenook fireplace (which now houses the oven), and beamed ceiling sit alongside a contemporary dining table. Guests will find everything they need here, including a range-style electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. Stairs from the hallway lead to a light-filled landing with a library of books, and onto the first-floor accommodation, where there are three delightful bedrooms, all with views over the surrounding countryside. The first bedroom is a spacious king-size room with en-suite shower room, there is also a king-size room and a pretty twin.The bathroom, also on the first-floor, has a roll top bath, large separate walk in shower and WC.

Outside, the property has a private courtyard garden with a hot tub for 6 people, garden furniture, as well as a shared lawned garden. There is ample off-road parking, as well as handy area which can be used for washing bikes, dogs, surfboards and wellies.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Great location, peaceful and well equipped. Wonderful coastal walks straight from the farm, we couldn't fault this place and want to come back! We were very sad to leave. Only stay here if you love animals and the outdoor life. Phone signal and wifi slow here-didn't bother us one bit! The farm is quite remote and that is what is so great about it.

We arrived very late in the evening but were greeted by the owner who couldn't have been more helpful. The house was a lot bigger than the pictures show and was very well equipped. The bottle of wine and food were extremely well received and we were kept very warm and comfortable during the windy evenings. The property is in a beautiful spot for walkers and the owners are very friendly. The scenery is stunning and for those who enjoy a secluded holiday it is the ideal base.

This is a lovely holiday home, right in the centre of a working farm though nonetheless incredibly peaceful - we were never disturbed by noise. There is a lot is space, big comfy sofas and a little den the children enjoyed retiring to, though I suspect that was because it really was the only place a good wifi signal came through. Puffin house was perfect for the size of our group (3 couples and a baby) , it was much bigger than the pictures on the webpages suggest. It was very characterful but very well equipped. Plenty of bathrooms and toilets.
