The delightful character farmhouse was built in 1627, steeped in history and listed in the Doomsday Book. It offers a stunning rural retreat in the heart of a Designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, nestled in a spectacular cliff-top location with breath-taking views across rolling countryside towards the Atlantic Ocean, Lundy Island and the South West Coast Path. Located 3 miles from the busy village of Hartland, and within easy walking distance of Hartland Point and Quay along the unspoilt coastal footpaths.

Guests can explore this busy working beef, sheep & arable farm and enjoy the wonderful walks particularly in the cliff meadows only 2 minutes from the house. The entire peninsular is SSSI graded (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and great for bird watching, fauna, flora and wildlife enthusiasts. If you can tear yourself away from the beautiful location, the wide, sandy beaches and amenities around Bude or Bideford are within a 20 minute drive and are perfect for those that enjoy sunbathing or surfing. There is also Clovelly which is well worth a visit, with its steep cobbled streets leading down to a pretty harbour and nearby Instow & Appledore hosting a variety of eateries, galleries, fishing trips, delis & bars. Visit a wealth of coastal towns, gardens, golf courses, cycle paths, and restaurants. At the end of the day, you can relax in the sheltered courtyard garden or stroll to the cliffs, watch the sunset and enjoy the peace and tranquillity. The farm offers the perfect location for cyclists, surfers, dog walkers and nature lovers.

The accommodation offers THREE bedrooms: 1 large double with washbasin, 1 further king-size double with washbasin and 1 twin.  All bedrooms have countryside views. Snug available for travel cot, guest are welcome to bring a temporary bed by prior arrangement with owner. Bathroom: with heated towel rail. Separate WC. Shower room with heated towel rail and WC. Large landing with library. Downstairs there is a large entrance hall with plenty of space for coats and boots. Lounge: spacious and comfortable with TV, DVD, Freeview and woodburner effect electric fire. Kitchen: traditional farmhouse style with plenty of room for entertaining, Range-style electric cooker with ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and fridge/freezer. Outside: enclosed courtyard garden area and garden furniture. Further shared lawned garden outside the property. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric, central heating and Wi-Fi included. 2 well behaved dogs welcome.  Dogs allowed downstairs only. No smoking inside the property. Additional info: Tesco, Sainsbury, Waitrose & Asda deliveries accepted. Wash down area for bikes,dogs, surfboards & wellies. Location: beach under 1 mile within walking distance, shops and pubs 3 miles. Arrival: 3pm.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Fantastic location and sweet cottage

Puffin house was perfect for the size of our group (3 couples and a baby) , it was much bigger than the pictures on the webpages suggest. It was very characterful but very well equipped. Plenty of bathrooms and toilets.

Very well equipped roomy accommodation in gorgeous rural setting. The only problem is that it is a bit far from anywhere and you need a car ( and to go for quite a drive) to get anywhere. One for keen walkers as there are great , hilly, walks from the doorstep.

The cottage was excellent far bigger than expected and very well equipped although for families a proper clothes line would have been handy for drying wet towels.
