A delightful and quaint barn conversion located in the pretty fishing village of Appledore in North Devon, you will be within easy reach of local beaches, coastal walks, and the harbour town of Bideford.

This property makes a wonderful base from which to enjoy a relaxing break in North Devon. For those who are looking for a quiet, restful break, then the village offers everything you will need right on the doorstep with a range of eateries, independent shops, and a working fishing quay, which makes a great place for a stroll whilst watching the boats come and go. In the summer months, a ferry runs across the estuary to the neighbouring village of Instow where there are yet more places to eat, a number of craft workshops, a yacht club, and a beach. Why not make the trip on a sunny evening and enjoy a pint in one of Instow’s pubs?

This barn conversion property is accessed via a set of external wooden stairs which lead across a decked area to the property’s front door, that then takes you into the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This welcoming room has wooden floors throughout, exposed beams, and an eye-catching stone fireplace which houses the warming wood burner. At one end of the room, there is comfortable seating from which guests can enjoy the TV/DVD and hi-fi. At the other end of the room, a dining table separates the lounge area from the kitchen, which is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, and washing machine. The bedroom is, again, a delightfully spacious room with a king-size bed, exposed beams, and its own TV. The property’s bathroom offers a bath, separate shower, and WC.

Outside, there is a raised decked patio to the front of the property, which has garden furniture and offers views across the village to the river beyond. There is one allocated parking space provided, whilst there is additional parking available either at the roadside or in nearby public car parks.

The cottage was fantastic and was perfect for our Christmas break. Consideration for less mobile persons is required to access the property via the steps however, this certainly did not create a problem for us and would certainly book again.

This is a clean, spacious one bedroom property with a shop and eateries within walking distance. However,It would be totally unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues as access to the property is obtained by walking up steep, uneven, slippery steps. Your luggage has to be carried up the steps from a parking area a little way away.

The cottage was very clean, comfortable and spacious within easy walking distance of town. The cottage was nice and warm on arrival. A bit awkward to unload the car especially if it is raining, but good having secure offroad parking.

Lovely peaceful cottage, spacious accommodation for two and no traffic noise. Verandah gets full sun in the mornings so a lovely place to eat breakfast. Visitors should be aware that although there is secure parking you will not be able to unload your car at the door and access is up a set of uneven steps.

Although this cottage was only one bedroom it was very spacious for 2 people. The bedroom was big with a good amount of storage. Everything was great - would recommend it. Very good walking distance to Appledore and a great selection of eateries!

Cottage was superb and so was location. Let down by some poor quality kitchen equipment. Saying that we had a brilliant holiday.

The cottage was fantastic, it was very clean and well equipped and was a very good place for exploring north Devon.
