Approached via a 0.75-mile private driveway meandering through the owners’ 700-acre dairy farm, you are promised a tranquil countryside escape. You’ll be located just over a mile from the market town of Bideford with its shops, pubs and restaurants, while the two miles of golden sandy beach at Westward Ho! and the sand dunes at Instow are both a 15-minute drive away. For families with young children, the nearby attractions of The Big Sheep, The Milky Way and Tapely Park will all be popular choices. The charming fishing village of Appledore and the cliffside village of Clovelly with its cobbled streets, are all worth a visit too.

Enter this beautiful property into the impressive entrance hall and you’ll feel the comfort of the underfloor heating, which runs throughout the downstairs, almost instantly. Head into the large kitchen/diner, which is accessed via a couple of steps down from the hallway and has been finished to create a room, which is very much at the heart of the property. There is a range cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and large dining table so that everyone can dine together. There is also comfortable seating with a TV, Freeview, DVD and doors leading outside to the patio. Like most rooms in this property, you can enjoy the spectacular views as you relax in the kitchen. The spacious lounge offers plenty of comfortable seating for everyone and offers a TV, Freeview, a sliding door out to the patio area and a woodburner set into a beautiful stonewall. There is also a WC on this level and a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. There are five bedrooms, all of which are comfortable, well equipped and provide a tranquil space to relax after a busy day – most with countryside views. The first king-size bedroom offers a TV/DVD, Freeview and an en-suite with whirlpool bath, shower and WC, the second king size also has a TV/DVD, Freeview and an en-suite with shower over bath and WC. The zip-and-link double can be made up as a twin on request and has its own en-suite shower room and WC. The cottage is located in a beautiful area, surrounded by fields and very peaceful and quiet. 10 minute drive to the beach, 2 minute drive to Tesco. We very much enjoyed the home made scones with clotted cream and jam and the wine which was left for us on our arrival. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable and spacious.
