Located right on the quayside at Instow, this property is within easy walking distance of the local pubs and a deli, perfect for enjoying hearty meals and stocking up on supplies for your stay. Follow the riverside walk to the market town of Bideford, famed for its pannier market and tempting selection of shops and pubs. Enjoy many scenic walks as you take to the South West Coast Path, or if you prefer to travel on two wheels the Tarka Trail is ideal for cyclists. Also within walking distance is the sandy Instow beach, while a wealth of other sandy beaches and attractions can be reached with a short drive.

Inside, this spacious period property offers a beautiful blend of old and new, as bay windows, wooden flooring and decorative cornicing combine with fresh decor and contemporary fittings. On the ground floor, prepare meals in the spacious kitchen, which contains a double range oven and separate single oven, American-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and separate built-in freezer, while a utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer. Also in the kitchen, which features slate floors, is a large dining table to seat 16 for sociable meals overlooking the river. Once you have finished your meals, retire to the ground floor lounge, where there is seating for eight guests, a TV/DVD plus Xbox and Wii games consoles, while a second lounge on the first floor boasts a TV/DVD and grand bay window opening onto a balcony overlooking the River Torridge and estuary. Also on the first floor is a king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom and separate shower, together with one twin bedroom with en-suite shower room. Up on the second floor you will find one king-size bedroom with additional single bed for a child and en-suite bathroom with separate shower, one twin bedroom, one double bedroom with additional single and a shower room. On the third floor, a twin and a single bedroom share a shower room and feature charming porthole windows for added character. All bedrooms are fitted with wall-mounted TVs and have been decorated in a fresh nautical style in keeping with this property’s desirable location.

Outside, a decked area with garden furniture and BBQ overlooks a large lawn beyond, perfect for whiling away warm summer afternoons. Beautifully stocked with colourful borders and beds, the enclosed garden also features a private hot tub, the perfect way to unwind after a busy day of walking or cycling.

Perfect location for walking and sightseeing in North Devon. Pubs and restaurants excellent nearby The house had everything we needed in the kitchen for self-catering or large groups. The upstairs lounge was fabulous for our evening card Ames and board games and wonderful views. Would definitely return in the future

The cottage more than adequately catered for large numbers of people. The kitchen was well equipped and provided all the necessities for cooking needs. The location was within easy walking distance to local pubs, great walking trails and the sandy beach. Comfortable lounge overlooking the estuary. Well suited for young children

Marvellously located and equipped house, comfortably and attractively furnished, with efficient plumbing and central heating. Parking for 5 cars and hot tub. This property has everything you need. The owners have thought of everything. The kitchen is particularly well equipped for large groups/families. Wonderful house for a large group of friends. Perfect location for all amenities In Instow. We have just spent 3 nights in this lovely house, all requirements catered for. A very well equipped kitchen and dining area. A wonderful property which is ideal for a large group gathering. There were 15 of us (8 adults and 7 kids). The property is so big we had ample space to spread our wings and do our own things. I would definitely consider going back in the future.

Anchorage house was perfect for our family holiday, offering plenty of room both inside and out and with the best equipped kitchen I have seen in a holiday let. The hot tub was an added bonus that everyone loved.
