This apartment situated in the fishing village of Appledore is ideal for a Devon holiday. With the town’s amenities and local attractions a short distance away, you definitely won’t get bored!

This apartment is located in the heart of Appledore with its historic harbour and many shops, pubs and restaurants. There are also many other places to visit in the area that can be reached by car. The market town of Bideford is popular with holidaymakers and is also home to the Oldenburg passenger ferry that makes daily trips to Lundy Island. Surfers and sunbathers can discover the sandy beaches at Instow and Westward Ho!, and both walkers and cyclists can follow the Tarka Trail as it winds its way through North Devon. There are also several local attractions such as the Milky Way, the Big Sheep and Dartington Crystal that make a great family day out.

Inside the apartment, there is a cosy lounge/diner furnished with a comfortable sofa and armchair, and features a TV, Freeview, DVD and Hi-Fi as well as an electric real-effect fire. The dining area has a dining table and seating for four people. The kitchen is light and airy, and well-equipped with everything you could need for a self-catering holiday, including a gas hob and electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and washer/dryer. There is one double bedroom with superb estuary and beach views, and bed-side tables. There is also one twin bedroom with a bedside table, built-in wardrobe and views over the river. The bathroom has a shower over bath and WC.

Outside the property, there is nearby roadside parking. The closest shop and pub are within walking distance. The nearest beach is a five-minute drive away.

The Gables is a lovely apartment and was perfect for our week's break in Appledore. It was extremely comfortable and very clean. It's at the top of a very steep street so you need to be pretty fit but there's a lovely very friendly pub at the bottom for liquid refreshments!

The flat is nice and the views from the bedroom are amazing. But beware of the beams!! It may not be the perfect flat for tall people... The kitchen could do with a bit of updating. Appledore is definitely a good base if you want to discover North Devon and it's easy and quick to get to lots of nice beaches or the South West Coastal Path.

The 4th floor apartment at the top of steep road was well worth the effort to climb- beautiful views across the estuary! The whole experience, including the village of Appledore and the surrounding area, was welcoming, clean and restful. The apartment was thoughtfully decorated. We arrived stressed and tired and left relaxed and refreshed!

Not too impressed thought it was very overpriced for the standard of property. No views, very deceptive photos on website! One of the alarms for the gas went off. Informed caretaker of this and the fridge problem. I did email my comments to you last week.
