Set in the heart of the Exe Valley, this delightful log cabin provides a unique holiday experience with on site activities and the guarantee of complete peace and quiet.

While there is plenty to see and do on site, the surrounding also offers a wealth of attractions and activities to keep you busy on your holiday. Head to nearby Exmoor National Park for long walks, pony trekking, game and clay pigeon shooting and mountain biking.

The North Devon and Somerset coast are also within easy reach where you could try a spot of sea fishing, surfing or enjoy a traditional bucket and spade day with the kids. Keen golfers can head to Tiverton or Minehead, both towns also offering an array of shops. Less than four miles away you will find the charming village of Dulverton, a great spot to lunch or dinner if you don’t fancy cooking.

A long winding driving through wildlife rich woodland will take you to this cosy log cabin – keep your eyes peeled for peregrine falcons, red deer, foxes and badgers. Inside, you will find an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with an oven, microwave and fridge in the kitchen space and a TV/DVD and woodburner effect electric fire to keep you warm and cosy in the lounge. The separate double bedroom is found just off the living area and offers a comfortable place to relax after a busy day exploring. There is also an adjacent laundry room with a washing machine.

Outside of the property you can enjoy the wonderful valley views and evening drinks from the small garden with seating. The grounds offer plenty to be discovered and activities such as fly fishing and canoeing - you are welcome to bring your own equipment or this can be hired from the owners.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Overall the Cottage is in a good location for exploring Exmoor and the North Devon/Somerset Coast. The facilities are adequate. albeit basic. Dog friendly and ideal for people enjoy country walks.

My husband and I have stayed at Wonham several times - in fact we got engaged there! It's a magical place to get away from it all, dial the busy outside world down and step into nature. Richard, the owner, is a great guy who genuinely cares about his guests. The perfect hideaway to recharge your batteries.
