Traditional fishermen’s cottage, with stunning sea views, enjoying a fantastic position overlooking the harbour in the town of Brixham, on the beautiful English Riviera.

This property is located close to the harbour in Brixham, a lovely seaside town situated on Torbay. Three towns are clustered around the bay: Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham itself, which is situated on the western side. The other towns are both less than a thirty-minute drive from Brixham, but there is also a ferry that runs across the bay to Torquay which makes a daytrip to the resort town even more special. Brixham is a lovely town with a thriving harbour, a good range of shops and restaurants, several beaches, and even an interesting replica of the Golden Hind which is fully-accessible to visitors and offers a glimpse at life on the Tudor ship that circumnavigated the world.

On arrival, guests are welcome into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which is on the ground-floor and is a clear example of the tasteful shabby-chic style which gives the cottage a lovely homely feel. The lounge area, at the front of the room, offers views of the bay, which can be enjoyed from the comfortable sofas, or you can sit back and enjoy the TV and DVD player with selection of films and family games. The wood burner here gives the room a lovely cosy feel, even in the coldest months. The dining area, with its hand-painted furniture, sits between the lounge and the kitchen area, which is accessed via one step up, and is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. Wooden stairs lead to the first floor, where the master bedroom suite is located. This spacious room has a wonderful view of the bay, and benefits from an en-suite shower and WC. The main bathroom is also on this floor, and has a sumptuous roll-top bath with handheld shower, and WC. The remaining two bedrooms can be found on the second floor: a cosy single room and a good-sized twin, again with fabulous sea views.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We spent Christmas at the cottage with our 2 boys of 9 and 6. We all thought the cottage was beautiful, the views from every window were stunning looking out over the harbour and our stay was delightful. We walked to Bery Head along the coastal path to the cafe. We also walked the other way to the coves and swam on Christmas Day. We spotted seals sRead morewimming along the cliffs. We had a great short break in November in Guillimot Cottage in Brixham - the views were breathtaking. It was peaceful and quiet and we had everything we needed - including a log burner and a beautifully appointed Fisherman's cottage. Thank you!

It's a lovely cottage with a beautifull view, when you go outside after the stairs you are right in the centre of the town which is very nice. Pretty cottage decorated in upscale shabby-chic/downscale boutique was charming and well-equipped. Delightful views and despite central location a sense of privacy. Only drawback was parking and lack of a yard for the hound.

A beautiful cottage in a fab location. Steep stairs up and down to harbour area but easy if taken slowly! Cottage was beautifully decorated and attention to detail was brilliant. The pretty bedrooms for the children were very special and a nice change to the normal bland functional spaces. Deleighted to see crabbing nets and buckets available for uRead mores to use and buckets and spades for the seaside too. Washing machine and dishwasher was an added bonus too. The views from the cottage were amazing and even though there was no outdoor space to relax in the short walk to the great cafes made up for it. We would definitely book again with brixham cottages if all cottages were to the same standard as this one. Hide
