Traditional three-storey fishermen’s cottage sleeping two, finished to a high-standard throughout, located just a few minutes’ walk from Brixham town centre.

This property enjoys a central location, and is just a short walk from Brixham town centre, its shops, pubs, and restaurants. It is easy to spend a relaxed week here, browsing the shops, sampling the local restaurants, taking a boat ride around the bay, and maybe taking the ferry across to Torquay and enjoying a fun night out or a romantic meal in one of the seafront restaurants. Returning to Brixham by night across the waters is a truly magical experience, as you watch the lights glistening as you make your way back. There are beaches to be enjoyed too, several of which are within an easy walk of the town centre.

Steps lead from the road alongside the front garden to the entrance of this attractive property. Once inside, the first room that guests come to is the pretty kitchen, which has been thoughtfully finished in a chic understated muted colours. A breakfast bar island unit stands in the centre of the room, whilst a Range-style cooker sits in the former fireplace. Other equipment provided here includes an electric oven and hob, a fridge/freezer, and washing machine. Carpeted stairs lead directly from the kitchen to the first-floor lounge, another stylish room with double-aspect windows, a large corner sofa, TV, and cast iron open-fire which gives this room a lovely cosy glow in the evening. The stairs continue on to the second floor, where guests will find the bedroom, a lovely restful room which would rival any found in a boutique hotel. Sink into the soft support, sumptuous double bed where you will also find there is a shabby chic-style dressing table, and a window seat looking through the Sash Windows down to the garden below. The shower room, also on this level, offers a walk-in shower and WC.

Outside, the cottage garden is a surprising feature of this house, which is unusual for a property so close to the town centre. Surrounded by shrubs and plants, steps lead down to a seating area with bistro-style furniture, creating a lovely space for guests to enjoy alfresco drinks or meals. The owners have thoughtfully provided a parking permit which allows guests to park in the nearby Church car park.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Good location for holiday, used as a base for visiting the local area attractions like Torquay, Paignton, Teignmouth etc. Brixham is a lovely place to stay, the dogs loved the beach.

The cottage is charming and a sun trap. Inside is attractive, well furnished and bright. The approach is very uneven and not well lit and the two flights of stairs in the cottage might be a challenge to anyone with mobility issues.

Perfect bijou dog friendly cottage. Just come back from a 4 night stay at Hideaway cottage. Great location just 5 minutes walk to the high street and restaurants. Outside space is a real bonus in Brixham, as was the car park permit for the nearby church car park. We slept really well, no noise issues. Would highly recommend.

A great little cottage in a good position close to harbour and town well equipped and comfortable the only minor criticism is the post office sorting office is behind you and they are very noisy from 3.00am but replacement windows would soon sort that out. As far as value for money then 5 out of 5 from us.

My ancestors were fishermen on the old Brixham trawlers in the 1860s so this cottage was so close to their house it was like living their life for a week but with all the comforts of today. I really loved the cottage as close to town and harbour with lots of trips available. The cottage is a perfect place to stay and will be back as it was so relaxRead moreing and our dog Alfie loved sitting in the garden as so secure and a sun trap. Hide

A lovely cottage - first time we had taken our dog on holiday with us and we had a great time. Only regret was that we hadn't booked for two weeks!

Reviewed by GRAHAM, 6th August 2017

The things that stopped us putting good for cleanliness was the draining board and the shower wasn't spotless. The cottage had everything needed to be comfortable BUT the mattress was very soft and didn't appear particularly new. The quality and the fit of the bedding was also poor. We also could not close the bathroom window (it was like this whenRead more we arrived), and the bathroom door would benefit from some attention as it needs slamming to shut properly and is very noisy. Having said all this we really enjoyed the cottage, the location was ideal and the outside space was very good. There was also no visitors book which would allow future holiday makers to benefit from previous ones findings and recommendations. Hide

Steve and I and Kizzy the dog had a wonderful 5 days at Hideaway Cottage during the Brixham Pirate Festival. The cottage is beautifully decorated, welcoming and comfortable. This is our second visit and certainly won't be our last. Ideally situated for walking down to the harbour, we highly recommend this dog friendly cottage.

The cottage was everything we had expected. Right near the town but away from the busy part. The cottage was clean and even had tea and coffee etc which was a nice touch, nice little garden if the weather would have been hotter to sit out in. I would recommend and would definitely come back
