Traditional fishermen’s cottage, situated close to Brixham town centre, with two separate outside spaces: a courtyard and raised sun terrace.

This property is located close to Brixham town centre, just a few minutes’ walk from the town’s busy harbour with its heritage fishing fleet, and tour boats. The whole region is known for the clear blue water and warm seas at the beaches, and there several beaches within easy reach of the town centre, including Shoalstone Beach which has the added bonus of a tidal pool, and quiet Fishcombe Cove. The coastal walks around the edges of the town are absolutely stunning, whether you fancy walking out to the lighthouse at Berryhead National Nature Reserve, or enjoying the picturesque six-mile hike to the neighbouring town of Paignton.

A number of external steps lead to the front door of this former-fishermen’s cottage, which opens directly into the cosy lounge, with its warming open fire, comfortable seating, and TV. Moving towards the rear of the property, past the stairs, guests come to the kitchen/diner, where there is a dining table seating four, an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. A door from the kitchen area leads to the rear courtyard and steep steps to the elevated sun terrace. Wooden stairs lead to the first floor where there is an attractive double room which has a double bed, and built-in wardrobe. The bathroom is also on this floor, and offers the best of both worlds, with a corner bath, separate shower cubicle, and WC. Steep winding cottage-style stairs (unsuitable for children under five) lead to the second-floor bedroom, a charming twin room offering views across the town’s roof tops. Guests should be aware that this bedroom is in the eaves of the house and, therefore is subject to a reduced head-height.

Outside, the property benefits from a small enclosed courtyard garden and steep steps which lead to the elevated sun terrace, this is set to shingle and has a table and bench seating, a quiet space overlooking the town with garden furniture, making an excellent space to enjoy drinks in the sun. Guests should be aware that this is a high-level terrace and steep stairs lead to it, therefore it is not suitable for under-fives.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • There are many small winding streets that are not suitable for cars, therefore many properties in Brixham do not have private parking. However, alternative parking is available in local carparks.

A lovely old workers cottage which had everything I could have needed for me to recover from walking the SW coast path each day. Brixham has very steep slopes and there are also steep stairs in the cottage. The seagull was a bit reluctant to share the sun terrace as she has built her nest up there! Perfect holiday for me and my dog.

Family of four including two young lads stopped for the Easter week. We had a great week and the lads really enjoyed stopping at the cottage. Very quaint and different however a family of four adults would feel a little cramped. Equipment was acceptable and cottage was very clean and well kept. Really lovely cottage in the heart of Brixham. Lots of steps to climb to get to the cottage which were not a problem for us, but maybe for others. We will defiantly visit again.

Beautiful cottage centrally located, immaculate inside with all facilities. Excellent base and a few minutes walk from central Brixham, able to off load luggage and then park 5 mins away free of charge. Would not suit young children or frail due to very steep stairs to upper terrace garden or 2nd bedroom. However we had a fab time with sun all the Read moreway and the dogs loved it ... would recommend, will return...... Hide

Good location a bit hilly so make sure that everyone is physically fit Property good for unloading but you have park up road , the property is in good condition has everything you require of good quality only downside some of utensils are bit cheap

Lovely quirky cottage near the town centre in quiet street. Really well furnished and very clean and comfortable. Up a hill so not suitable if you have difficulty with steps!
