This delightful reverse level barn, sits within a charming shared courtyard with pretty water feature and has been tastefully converted to a high standard retaining many of its original features, nestling in the humble village of Harbeton with views over the rolling countryside.

Located approximately 3 miles from the medieval market town of Totnes which sits astride the river Dart and offers a wealth of small shops, cafes, locally sourced food and great places to eat, river trips and Totnes castle. The smaller town of Dartington is within 5 miles with stunning gardens and cultural events, the busier towns of Brixham with its pretty harbour and Torbay with its sandy beach and resort attractions are both a 30 minute drive. Dartmoor, perfect for walkers, is less than half an hour away. Other attractions within easy reach include Paignton Zoo, Woodlands Leisure Park and South Devon Railway. Leisure facilities: games barn, opposite the property with table tennis/table football, darts board and storage for bikes.

The stylish, upside down accommodation offers THREE bedrooms: on the ground floor, 1 king-size with en-suite shower room and WC and 2 twin bedrooms. Bathroom: also on the ground floor, with hand held shower over bath and WC. Separate WC on the ground floor. Lounge/kitchen/diner: upstairs, open-plan with high ceilings and exposed beams, gas woodburner, TV with Sky Package (not including movies/sports), DVD, iPod dock, PS2 games console, selection of board games and stairs leading to an additional mezzanine level with beanbags. Kitchen area: with granite worktops, seating for 6, gas fired Aga (available all year round apart from July and August when it is available on a request basis), electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and DAB radio. Utility: on the ground floor, with washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside: large enclosed split level garden, situated opposite the barn, with seating and BBQ. Amenities: off road parking for 2 cars (1 space subject to availability), additional roadside parking available approximately 30 yards away. Bed linen, electric, underfloor heating and wi-fi included. Regret no smoking within the property. 2 dogs welcome. Additional info: there is a small pond in the shared courtyard area, children to take care. Location: beach 9.5 miles, shop 3 miles, pub within walking distance.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

The Steadings was a lovely well equipped cottage, we enjoyed our stay immensely. Lovely aspect of kitchen and lounge upstairs, very different but we liked it. Lots of games to play and good selection of DVDs. Good instructions for all the equipment. Nice touch of flowers and a welcome pack of tea and biscuits plus 2 bottles of wine for our arrival.Read more Very nice caretaker lady too. Hide

Beautiful, well equiped and spacious. The second time we've stayed at this property and we would go again. Village is delightful and local pub is friendly and serves excellent food. You do need a car to get about.

Location was good but roads to and from village narrow and as we used cottage as base to visit a sick relative in hospital roads to there very busy and contested.
