Well known as a ‘Walkers are Welcome’ town, this remote part of Wales offers an unrivalled selection of walking and hiking routes to be explored with man’s best friend at your heels. With the mountains of Aran and Arenig less than 10 miles away and Berwyn slightly further afield, summiting some of Snowdonia’s most impressive peaks is a feat well within your grasp. Canine companions will adore a trip to Bala Lake, following the charming 14-mile footpath around the body of water, or jumping on the historic steam train at Bala Lake Railway for a relaxing tour of some of the area’s prettiest views.
