Self-catering dog-friendly holiday cottages in Braemar

Featuring a choice of dog-friendly cottages, Braemar is a picturesque village at the heart of the majestic Cairngorms National Park and makes a delightful base for exploring this beautiful part of Scotland. A choice of pet-friendly, self-catering accommodation is available both in Braemar itself and throughout the Cairngorms, ranging from a quaint cottage for two in the heart of the forest to lodges and castles on the park’s outskirts. There are plenty of attractions and activities for dogs and their owners throughout the region. A haven for nature-lovers, keen walkers and climbers, the Cairngorms offers miles of walks and 24 Munros to bag. Your canine companion can help you explore the grounds of the magnificent Braemar Castle, which dates back to 1628.

Each September, Braemar is home to the Braemar Highland Gathering which is regularly attended by royalty and features pipe bands, Highland dancing and a range of Highland games. The royal residence of Balmoral Castle is also nearby (9 miles). Braemar also has its own golf course and is just 9 miles to the north of the popular Glenshee Ski Centre. Heading west from the village, you will find the beautiful Mar Lodge Estate (3 miles), Covering some 29,000 hectares, this is the largest National Nature Reserve in Britain. With your four-legged friend, you can explore the estate and its heather-covered moorland, Caledonian pine forest and wetlands, visit the Linn of Dee, walk through Glen Lui and spot wildlife including red deer, golden eagles, otters and red squirrels. Take a look at our full collection of Braemar dog-friendly holiday cottages and explore all this and more with your faithful friend.
