Brean is a fantastic place for a dog-friendly holiday. We have some fabulous dog-friendly self-catering holiday cottages in and around Brean Sands for you, your family, friends and dog to fall in love with. Brean is home to a 6-mile stretch of sand that joins up with the neighbouring Berrow Beach: the perfect base for a seaside holiday in Somerset. It’s also 2 miles from Weston-super-Mare and this length of coast is home to one of the longest uninterrupted stretches of beach in the UK. At the north end of Brean Sands is Brean Down, a 97 metre-high promontory that dominates the surroundings. High sea views and a myriad of walking trails await discovery. It is home to interesting flora and fauna and is popular with dog-walkers and wayfarers. You can also seek out the remains of a Napoleonic fort on the headland too.
Brean Sands has a good range of facilities including parking and public WCs. Only dogs on leads are only allowed all year around at the beach and the headland, so it’s more suitable for elderly dogs and puppies as opposed to the more bouncy and exuberant type of hound, however there are fewer and no restrictions on your pets close by on the other beaches. A short walk from our Brean cottages the village of Brean is home to a small number of handy amenities like shops and a few pubs like The Beachcomber, The Brean Down Inn and The Ocean Bar but you aren't too far from Weston-super-Mare's out-of-town shopping parks. For other beaches, head to local Somerset beaches for day trips to Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea and Watchet. For high views across the whole area, venture into the Quantock Hills, a large beautiful area characterised by its high moorlands, woodlands, and associations with the Romantic poets. Visit our collection of dog-friendly coastal cottages in Brean today. We have a larger range of dog-friendly holiday cottages in Somerset too.
