Famous as the setting for hit TV series Doc Martin, Port Isaac is a lively fishing village in spectacular surroundings, with a quaint harbour and a delightful choice of dog-friendly cottages. The village is known for its whitewashed fishermens’ cottages which line the valley and lead down to the harbour where the local fishermen land the daily catch. There’s a range of wonderful dog-friendly Cornish cottages to choose from, including pretty barn conversions, beautiful detached cottages and spacious bungalows, offering fantastic self-catering accommodation for couples, families and groups of friends. Port Isaac also offers a lovely variety of excellent dog-friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants, as well as a number of superb art galleries which promote the work of some talented local artists.
Our Port Isaac cottages have a small, pet-friendly shingle beach, with the nearby dog-friendly cove of Port Gaverne featuring a larger sandy beach and access to spectacular cliff-top walks. Dogs are also welcome at nearby beaches including Daymer Bay, Harlyn Bay and Harbour Cove. The South West Coast Path is easily accessible, with Tintagel to the north and the picturesque cove of Port Quin to the south, which then leads along to the Pentire coast with its breathtaking views out across the Atlantic Ocean. Returning to the coast path you can reach the popular fishing villages of Polzeath and Padstow which have plenty of dog-welcoming restaurants, shops and pubs for you to unwind in. Heading inland you can explore the mysterious Bodmin Moor, one of the most dramatic landscapes in Cornwall.
