The elegant coastal town of Salcombe in Devon is a scenic destination for a dog-friendly holiday. Our pet-friendly cottages give you access to some fabulous walks in the fresh sea air with your canine companion. Salcombe’s estuary location and pretty pastel-coloured houses make it a picturesque spot for walks around the harbour, where you can stop off for a bite to eat in a dog-friendly restaurant. Longer walks can be enjoyed on the South West Coast Path that runs right along the coastline. Head west to Bolt Head, Bigbury-on-Sea and Bantham or rejoin the path at East Portlemouth, which can be reached by ferry. From here, stride out towards Start Point Lighthouse. This walk also passes a pub where you and your thirsty canine can get a drink.
A stay in one of our holiday cottages in Salcombe also means you can be close to a variety of golden beaches that welcome dogs all year round, including Salcombe North Sands and Soar Mill Cove. You’re also within 20 miles of Dartmouth, which is not only picture-perfect but also very dog friendly, with canines welcome in most of its pubs, on board ferries and even on the Dartmouth Steam Railway from Kingswear.
