Guests staying in Seahouses dog-friendly holiday cottages can also head north to the atmospheric Holy Island (20 miles) and explore the remains of Lindisfarne Priory and Lindisfarne Castle.
From Seahouses harbour you and your four-legged friends can take a boat trip out to the Farne Islands where you can watch thousands of seabirds and grey seals in their natural habitat (please note dogs are permitted on only one of the islands). Heading north along the craggy Northumberland Coast Path with its spellbinding sea views, you will come to the historic coastal village of Bamburgh (3.5 miles). Dogs are welcome on Bamburgh’s lovely sandy beach, and they can help you explore the grounds of the impressive medieval Bamburgh Castle. Your canine companions are also welcome at Dunstanburgh Castle (10.5 miles), and they can join you on a steam train through the region. Heading inland you can discover the Northumberland National Park and the Cheviot Hills (21 miles).
