Occupying a lovely spot along Northumberland’sstunning coastline, there is a fantastic choice of dog-friendly cottages in Warkworth, a picturesque village with a long history dating back to medieval times. Offering a range of cosy and welcoming pet-friendly self-catering accommodation, the charming village of Warkworth is ideal for dogs and their owners exploring beautiful dog-friendly beaches and wonderful rural walks. Situated on the banks of the River Coquet, the village has a friendly selection of independent shops, art galleries and pubs, many of them welcome pets. As well as its dog-friendly cottages Warkworth is perfectly placed for walkers following the spectacular Northumberland Coast Path as it wends its way from Cresswell in the south (10.5 miles) and up past Craster (11.5 miles) to Bamburgh (24 miles) and beyond.
Most of Northumberland’s beaches are dog-friendly, including those at Warkworth itself and nearby in Alnmouth (4.5 miles) and Amble (1.5 miles). Your canine pals can enjoy a run at Druridge Bay Country Park (8.5 miles) or accompany you on a steam train through the Aln Valley. Dogs are also welcome in the grounds of several local heritage sites including Warkworth Castle, Woodhorn Museum (13.5 miles), Cragside (17.5 miles) and Dunstanburgh Castle (11.5 miles). Warkworth dog-friendly holiday cottages are ideal for visiting Amble (1.5 miles), a thriving harbour where you’ll find the popular shops of Harbour Village. Just a little way inland is the bustling market town of Alnwick (7.5 miles), or you could head further inland to explore the majestic landscapes of Northumberland National Park (18 miles).
