Weston-super-Mare is a top choice for a dog-friendly holiday in Somerset, with its glorious beach, iconic pier and bustling resort town. Dogs are welcome on the beach from the Grand Pier and Knightsone Island and from Royal Sands to Uphill all year round, and the area between Royal Sands and the Grand Pier has seasonal restrictions, with dogs allowed from 1st October until 30th April. Whatever time of year you visit, there’s always somewhere to get your fix of sea air and sandy paws, with plenty of space for dogs to run free.
The town’s huge promenade is a wonderful place for a stroll at any time of day, and there are so many dog-friendly cafes on the front and in the town that you could eat in a different one each day of your holiday at our Weston-super-Mare cottages.
Weston-super-Mare maintains its traditional seaside resort atmosphere, with everything from seasonal donkey rides on the beach, to the happy-go-lucky entertainment on the Grand Pier. It’s no surprise that generations of families return here year after year.
For dog walks, there are plenty of options, with a section of the English Coast Path stretching from nearby Brean Down (9 miles) to Minehead. There are also more local routes close to Weston-super-Mare, with Uphill Nature Reserve, Sand Bay and Weston Woods providing a number of scenic trails.
Out of town, there’s also much to explore with your pet, from extraordinary Cheddar Gorge (13.5 miles), to the cities of Bristol (24.5 miles) and Bath (46.5 miles).
After days out exploring, you’ll enjoy returning to our dog-friendly accommodation in Weston-super-Mare, where you can treat yourselves to an enjoyable holiday exploring the delights of Somerset together. Our pet-friendly self-catering cottages in Somerset are well-equipped for a relaxing getaway with your dog, with benefits such as enclosed gardens and proximity to beach and countryside walks.
