Charming converted farm building located on the stunning Dorset coast. With plenty to see and do within walking distance, this is an excellent choice for large families.

Situated in the traditional Dorset seaside village of Charmouth, this gated holiday complex offers a selection of well thought out, purpose-built accommodation within these converted former farm buildings. With onsite leisure facilities for all ages, the property is also conveniently located just a short stroll from the village amenities and Charmouth beach. Also nearby is the wonderful town of Lyme Regis, with its fossil-rich beach and historic Cobb, a beautiful unspoilt seafront with sheltered south-facing beaches and traditional deckchairs that line the promenade in the summer. The Jurassic coastline has been designated as England's first Natural World Heritage Site and spans nearly one hundred miles of the Dorset and East Devon coastline. There are many attractions in the area including the charming resorts of Beer, Branscombe, Crealy Adventure Park and numerous National Trust properties and gardens to name but a few.

Stepping inside the property, you can prepare meals in the spacious kitchen, which has been well-equipped with an integrated oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Once prepared, enjoy sociable meals together in the dining area, which features oak flooring and is open-plan to the lounge beyond. With French doors opening onto the patio, this room is light and bright with three comfortable sofas and a TV/DVD for cosy nights in. There are five bedrooms, firstly on the ground floor is a twin bedroom, which can be made up as a super-king-size bed on request. Also on the ground floor is a separate wet room style shower room with WC and a further separate WC. Heading upstairs to the first floor there are four more bedrooms, a king-size bedroom benefits from a TV and en-suite shower room, while a further king-size and two twin bedrooms share a bathroom with overhead shower.

Outside, there is a private enclosed patio area with outdoor furniture for enjoying al fresco meals together. Guests are invited to enjoy the neighbouring holiday park which includes a shared, covered outdoor heated swimming pool (available during specific dates only and not available all year, please refer to the 'need to know' section for details), Char Valley Café which serves speciality teas and coffees and a shared outdoor children's play area. For a reduced charge and available to adults, is the well-equipped Char Valley Health Club, including a gym, indoor pool, sauna and steam room.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Brilliant location. Access to the pool was appreciated by all (young 2 and old 67). House provided a great base for our outings - not the most luxurious of accommodation but adequate for our needs.

It's a clean and tidy cottage that is tastefully furnished. 3 showers and 4 toilets make it very practical. The swimming pool is great and never over crowded, and it's walking distance to the shops and beach. It's in a gated community of about 15 buildings with plenty of parking. You have to get out of you car to open the electric gates. The WiFi wRead moreas too slow for our video streaming children and we had to pay 25 for the week. Hide

The property is in a really good location in the village of Charmouth, within walking distance of the two local pubs, cafe, fish shop, shops, beach and Charmouth visitor centre. Its also a great base for visiting nearby attractions and places of interest. There was enough equipment for all of us in the house. There are no finishing touches which woRead moreuld give it a more luxurious finish. There was no where to dry our towels each day and we had to hang them on coathangers. An overall house. Hide

Well positioned within village ,close to shops, pub and beach within a 10 stroll. Not a luxury cottage but clean and had all the essentials. Strong WiFi but it is expensive.

Well situated for access to the local beach which is an easy, enjoyable stroll away. If we'd been using the house to capacity I think it would have felt overcrowded but there were only 6 of us. It was quite a bland almost utilitarian place, but what it lacked in character it made up for in solidity - doors closed properly, soft flushing loos and goRead moreod solid comfy furniture. Disappointing and not great value for money. Failed to provide basic sundries such as loo paper which wasn't helpful after a 4 hour journey. Swimming pool closed from September. Location good for beach but be aware it is on a caravan park.
