This typical chocolate box cottage dating from 1740 is located in the charming hamlet of Coombe Keynes, with a population of only 79 people. The village boasts a beautiful 13th-century church with stunning stained glass windows which is well worth a visit. Records show that the church previously had church bells, but during restoration these were taken out and are now kept at the County Museum in Dorchester (12 miles away), a nice day out if you don't mind travelling a little further afield.

The property boasts single-level accommodation which is ideal for family living and socialising. Through the hall entering into the sitting room, there are feature stone walls, warming wooden floors and a stunning beamed fireplace setting off the log burner perfectly. A lovely spacious ( kitchen table seats 8 very comfortably - only 2 of us though ) and clean Barn conversion/cottage. Very well equipped and garden nicely closed off for our small dog to run around, couldn't get out. Found a very good walk for our dog, can walk for miles, left out of cottage and then right turn short distance down the road and pastRead more old post office (Purbeck Walk) Can walk to Lulworth Castle and beyond. The cottage was in a fabulous location and was immaculate when we arrived. The facilities were excellent and the cottage was warm and cosy. We were a little disappointed with the space available in the bathrooms, but thats just because we were navigating them with small children.

Carters Barn is tucked away in a small peaceful hamlet, and only a short drive to local shops, and within easy reach of the sea and many beautiful places worth visiting. The Barn is welcoming and equipped well for a super relaxing stay.

Extremely well equipped with lots of drawer and wardrobe space. Lovely big kitchen too. Amazing collection of old paperbacks and CDs but no up to date DVDs. Lovely garden and good parking.
