Situated in the quaint village of Leigh amid glorious Dorset countryside, these 4 delightful barn conversions make an excellent holiday base to explore Dorset and South Somerset. Converted to a high standard and set in an L shape with a courtyard on one side and lovely country views over Thomas Hardy’s famous Blackmoor Vale on the other.

Steeped in history, Dorset's beautiful landscape of rolling chalk downland and hidden valleys affords wonderful walking. The area offers a wealth of pretty villages, sandy beaches and a coastline which has World Heritage status. There are several golf courses nearby, horse riding and water activities can be enjoyed at Halstock Reservoir. The towns of Dorchester, Sherborne and Yeovil are easily accessible and there are many National Trust properties and gardens to visit including Montacute and Stourhead. In addition to this there are many attractions including Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, Haynes Motor Museum, Monkey World and Abbotsbury Swannery.

Farm activities: though set on the edge of an organic farm, but in a non-working part, the owner would be delighted to show guests around the farm, which is only a short walk away from the cottages. There is also a small flock of sheep and chickens in the cider orchard close by. Games room: shared, with a snooker table, table football and darts. Outside: the grounds offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside as well as a lake which attract a wealth of wildlife and superb country walking on the doorstep. Cycle store. Amenities: each property has parking for 2 cars close by. Bed linen, towels, electric, central heating and wi-fi included. Location: shop 0.2 mile and pub 1 mile. Weymouth’s sandy beach within a 40 minute drive.

The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 double with TV and 1 twin. Shower room: with WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: with TV and DVD. Kitchen area: with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Outside: private courtyard with garden furniture. Amenities: 2 dogs welcome, please keep your dog downstairs.

 

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Great facilities, very clean. West facing garden patio perfect for evenings. Games room perfect for the kids. Loads of beautiful and interesting places to visit. Accommodation very comfortable. Felt very much at home. Definitely want to return. Highly reccomend

Superb property, beautiful and quiet location, even though it is on a working farm, so peaceful. The barn conversion was beautiful and comfortable, we stayed in the creamery for a week.

This cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful location. I stayed here with my dog for a week and very useful having a field right next to the cottage to walk the dog. The bed was very comfortable, everything was clean and well equipped for my needs. I would definitely stay here again.

Our cottage was excellent with plenty of space inside, a garden area outside with a view across open fields and a play area close by. The farmer lived in the main house across the courtyard and he was helpful during our stay with advice about the local area and even a tour of the farm. We bought pasties from the lady who bakes at the end of the roaRead mored, got fish and chips from the van and ate in the local pub. We had a great time! Hide

This is our first rental over Christmas and we couldn't have pick a better location!! Peace quiet beautiful aspect!! Such a well equipped little cottage .... every thing you need in a perfect package !! A warm welcome from Chris but not interfering.... a nice touch was they had decorated the cottages for Christmas which made my children delighted !Read more!! Lovely location a pub a mile away, lovely towns on your doorstep!!! We booked with family who stayed in the cottage next door ! Dogs welcome !! Hide
