Property code: CREST

Detached former-coach house, dating to 1900, offering attractive original features alongside up-to-date technology to create a wonderful, relaxing retreat for up to four guests.

Once the coach house to the neighbouring pub, this stylish property enjoys a rural village location in the mid-Dorset countryside. For those who enjoy spending time outdoors, this is a fantastic location thanks to its location on the edge of the Dorset Area of Natural Beauty, and there are many miles of enjoyable walks to be had in the area, including the bracing but rewarding Giants Walk up to the huge chalk figure carved in the hillside at Cerne Abbas. Nine miles to the south of the property, the town of Dorchester has a number of attractions of interest to visitors, including a Tutankhamun museum, a teddy bear museum, and a dinosaur museum.

This quaint cottage is an ideal place for a restful break away from the stresses of daily life, and as soon as guests step inside the lounge/diner they will be able to immediately make themselves at home in the cosy surroundings. The beamed ceiling adds to the authentic feel of the cottage and the comfortable leather sofas are great for curling up in front of the warming wood burner and listening to some music on the iPod dock, or relaxing in front of a film on the TV/DVD. The dining table which seats four is situated next to the kitchen area, where there is a Range-style oven, hob, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, and dishwasher. The washer/dryer is located separately in a utility cupboard. Also, downstairs, is the wet room which offers a shower and WC. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, both of which have some reduced-head height due to the sloping cottage-style ceilings. The first bedroom is a double room which has a seating area with a sofa, and plenty of room to set up a cot, whilst the second bedroom is an L-shaped twin room. One fantastic additional feature of the property, are the speakers in most rooms which are linked up to stereo in the lounge, allowing guests to enjoy music from all over the house.

Outside, there is a small seating area for guests to enjoy, and they also have use of the neighbouring pub garden which has a play area for children aged under-eight. There is ample parking available.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

This was a lovely snug cottage located delightfully close to the pub which served excellent food. The Coachmans rest gave us instant access to the beautiful Dorset country side. The hosts were accommodating and the milk in the fridge was a nice touch! We cant wait to come back.

Coachmans Rest is an absolute gem of a property. It's so cosy even before the log burner is going. It's not huge but it's perfectly formed and space was ample for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Pub next door was welcoming and food was of good standard. We were looking for a traditional property with mod cons as a Christmas retreat to get away from it alRead morel and this property delivered. A very special property and we would definitely recommend Hide

Very nice cottage in a remote location. Handy pub next door when you don't want to cook.

Cottage is a delightful home from home with fantastic facilities and lovely, quality decor and furniture. It is a brilliant base from which to explore Dorset and we will definitely be returning. The pub next door is convenient and welcoming if you want a nice meal.
