Detached period property offering stylish accommodation for six guests, set in spacious gardens and situated in the Isle of Purbeck village of Langton Matravers, two miles from Swanage.

This property enjoys a quiet location in the village of Langton Matravers, which lies just two miles from Swanage and 1.5 miles from the secluded bay at Dancing Ledge which makes up part of the region’s historic Jurassic Coast. There are miles of coastal walks to be enjoyed locally, as well as lovely beaches including those at Swanage and Studland Bay which is managed by the National Trust. The Swanage Steam Railway makes a great way to spend a day, departing Swanage on one of the heritage trains, spending the day exploring Corfe Castle, before returning to Swanage in the afternoon.

On arrival at this property guests are able to immediately see just how much thought and time the owners have put into creating a stylish yet relaxing holiday home. All of the rooms are light and bright, including the lounge where patio doors open onto the garden and there is plenty of comfortable seating allowing guests to unwind in the evenings, perhaps whilst enjoying a film on the TV/DVD, or cosied up in front of the open fire. Next to the lounge a snug room offers a second space to relax or makes a lovely play space for younger children or somewhere for teenagers to enjoy their own TV/DVD. The kitchen/diner is a spacious room which has a sleek contemporary style to it. In the centre of the room, a dining table offers the perfect place to enjoy leisurely meals together, surrounded by kitchen units which include two ovens, a hob, fridge, and dishwasher. A separate utility area meanwhile houses the microwave, freezer, and washing machine. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, all of which feature original period window frames which give the rooms a lovely authentic character. The first bedroom is a double room which not only benefits from an en-suite shower room with shower and WC, but also has a Juliette balcony affording views across the garden and to the valley. The second bedroom is another double room which features an ornate bay window, whilst the third bedroom is a peaceful twin room. The bathroom can also be found on the first floor and offers a freestanding bath with handheld shower and WC. Additionally, a cloakroom with WC can be found on the ground floor.

The property benefits from a spacious enclosed garden which offers a generously-sized lawn as well as a terraced seating area with garden furniture, making it ideal for enjoying alfresco drinks and meals. There is off-road parking available for four cars.

Flagstones was perfect for a family Christmas and the Christmas tree and mantelpiece decorations were very welcoming, not to mention the bottle of wine! It was warm, very well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the coastal walks nearby.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. Very comfortable and spacious with everything one needs. The surrounding area is stunning with some great walks from the doorstep. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage and will certainly be returning in the future.

Quirky house full of great artwork. Roomy, light and very comfortable. Great views from bedroom and pretty garden. Excellent position in the village and close to marvellous sights and walking. Would definitely love to visit again.
