This stylish cottage is set in a peaceful location within a working farm and is surrounded by rolling countryside, making it the ideal spot for walkers and nature lovers alike, with many routes leading directly from the property. Pretty towns and villages are accessible from here, including , Sherborne, Sturminster Newton, Blandford and Dorchester, which offer a good selection of cafes, shops and restaurants. Heading south from the property is the stunning Jurassic Coastline, which provides the ideal backdrop for all manner of outdoor pursuits, with locations such as West Bay and Lyme Regis being accessible by car. For relaxed days out enjoy exploring all that rural Dorset has to offer, with many attractions such as the Kingston Lacy Estate and the county town of Dorchester being within easy reach.

This semi-detached property is reached by a long driveway. On entering the property via the gravel pathway, you are met by a bright and airy lounge/diner, which has high ceilings, an open fire and TV and DVD. Here you can enjoy relaxed family meals around the table, before settling down with a film in front of the fire. Adjacent to the lounge is the kitchen area, which is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Heading through the kitchen you will find a spacious king-size bedroom and a further twin bedroom (which can be made into a super-king-size zip-and-link on request at time of booking). Both rooms make use of the contemporary bathroom, which has a shower over bath and WC.

Moving outside, you will find a pretty enclosed lawn with a generous patio containing garden furniture and BBQ. Located directly to the front of the property, it’s the perfect spot for enjoying a meal outdoors, whilst your four legged friends can be free to roam in safety. There is ample off-road parking available within the nearby farm yard.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Lovely cosy cottage, loved it so much that I wanted to move in permanently. Everything that you need is there, the owner is very friendly and even left a welcome pack of milk, bread, butter, eggs and other goodies :) Couldn't ask for more, it's a little piece of heaven. We look forward to returning again <3

Comfortable cottage in a peaceful location, ideal for those who want to get away from it all. There was also a very generous welcoming pack, which was much appreciated. Secure garden for the dog offering lovely views and outdoor furniture to relax in. Hosts helpful and friendly without being intrusive.

A really great escape from everyday life. No light pollution and very quiet. All fittings are of excellent quality and worked well. Great for our dogs with the enclosed front garden. Owners keen to make sure all was well. More than acceptable welcome pack greeting us on arrival. Little journey to other places but would be happy to stay again.

A delightful holiday cottage in a lovely rural spot away from main roads. Loved the mix of antique, new and shabby-chic fixtures and fittings. Will definitely book the cottage again on our next visit to Dorset.

We found the property, location and hospitality excellent. Maple Cottage is located next to a very quiet diary farm and is an oasis of calm. The views are stunning and the decor is of a very high standard. The hosts were very warm and friendly and were so sad we didn't book a 2 week stay rather than just the week. We will definitely return.

If you want a completely rural retreat then the location is ideal. I would suggest staying here when all the inside DIY work has been completed. Lovely owner and the bread, butter and wine on arrival was a nice touch.
