Pretty cottage sleeping four guests, located within the walls of the Saxon town of Wareham: a picturesque town with its quay, independent shops, and good range of restaurants and cafes.

This property enjoys a fantastic location within the Saxon walls of the quayside town of Wareham. Everything that the town has to offer is just a short walk from the property, including a range of unusual independent shops, weekly market, and sports centre. The town quay is a fantastic place to visit, whether you want to sit in the pub and watch the boats go by, or take a boat trip along the River Frome down to Poole Harbour. The area is well known for its stunning coast line, and guests to this property have a great choice of sandy beaches on the Bournemouth side of Poole Harbour, or the fossil-rich beaches and dramatic seascapes of the Jurassic Coast.

This property is a fine example of a period cottage, and retains many period features, giving it a cosy and atmospheric feel. The lounge is a great example of this, with its beamed ceiling and inglenook fireplace which houses a warming wood burner. However, guests do not need to forego modern creature comforts, and there is a TV/DVD, and iPod in the room which can all be enjoyed from the comfortable sofas. The country-style kitchen/diner has underfloor heating, so there is no need to get cold toes in the morning, and is home to a dining table seating four. The kitchen area itself is well-equipped, and offers a Range oven, hob, fridge with ice compartment, whilst the microwave, freezer, and washer/dryer can be found in the separate utility room. Steep, cottage-style stairs lead from the lounge to the first-floor accommodation where there are two bedrooms. Both of these are king-size rooms, each with plenty of storage space and a dressing table. The main bathroom is also located on the first floor and offers a bath with handheld shower and WC, whilst there is also a ground-floor shower room with shower and WC.

Outside, the property benefits from an enclosed patio garden which has garden furniture and a BBQ, making it a lovely spot to unwind with a drink at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. There is parking for one small car which is accessed via a narrow entrance, whilst there is also roadside parking available locally for larger cars.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

We managed to use the car parking space behind the cottage in a VW Golf, which was fine. My 87 year old mum managed the steep stairs (11) just twice a day as the downstairs bathroom was perfect. The sunny patio was lovely to relax in after a day of exploring and the location is perfect for this.

The cottage is well equipped and wants for nothing. Ideally situated you only have to take a five minute stroll to be on the high street of Wareham. We have loved our week there enhanced by glorious weather. The scones cream and jam are a very nice touch along with milk coffee and tea. Thoroughly recommended.

Very thoughtfully equipped cottage, big comfortable bed, lovely garden for sitting out/barbecues. Quiet location on north side of Wareham, handy for railway station, nice dog walking by the river only a minute away, convenient for Co-op and the wonderful King's Arms pub. Drivers please note what the owner says about the tight entrance to the car paRead morerking space - we couldn't get our hired Zafira in! Note also stairs in cottage are very tight, not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Hide

This is an exceptionally well appointed comfortable cottage located only minutes on foot from all the features and facilities that Wareham has to offer. It is also very well placed for visits to Arne RSPB reserve and by ferry to Brownsea Island - both well worth visiting. Highly recommended. J and F.

This cottage can not be beaten in location comfort and equipment. Everything you need, down to dog towels, baby buggy and food blitzer. Of the 50+ cottages we have stayed in this beats the lot for what is provided. And the scones, cream, daffodils and the log fire ready set were the icing on the cake.
