Contemporary detached annex sleeping four guests, enjoying a quiet secluded location just one mile from Sturminster Newton town centre, in the heart of Thomas Hardy Country.

This property is located just one mile from the town of Sturminster Newton and yet enjoys a quiet location surrounded by fields. This pretty market town sits on the River Stour and offers a good range of shops and eateries as well as some interesting architecture, including the sixteenth century watermill and a picturesque six-arch bridge, the inspiration behind a poem written by the town’s famous former-resident Thomas Hardy. The area around the town has much to offer visitors, including the towns of Shaftesbury and Dorchester, the magnificent Cerne Abbas Giant, Lulworth Cove beach, and the iconic limestone arch of Durdle Door.

When guests arrive at this contemporary detached annex, they will first come to the ground-floor living space: a spacious lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area has windows on two sides which flood the whole room with light, as well as comfortable seating, a TV/DVD, hi-fi, and dining table. An archway leads through to the kitchen area, which offers an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. On the first floor of the property, there are two bedrooms. The first of these is a spacious master suite with a double bed and en-suite bathroom benefitting from a bath, separate shower, and WC. The second bedroom is a restful twin room with smaller sized 2’6” beds. The shower room on the first floor offers a shower and WC, whilst there is also a WC on the ground floor.

Outside there is a patio seating area with table and chairs in front of the property, as well as plenty of space in the enclosed paddock just across the driveway. There is driveway parking for two cars.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

A nice cottage in a quiet location pretty far from the village from friendly owners. Everything was good except the heating. The floor arcade and radiators didn't work at all. After we complained about this, the radiators were occasionally warm for half an hour. Because of this, it was cold in the living room especially in the morning and evening. Read more(Beginning of May). The hot water temperature during a shower changed continuously between hot and cold and in the morning this was the worst. Hide

The cosy cottage is in a lovely rural location (easy to find) with roughly an hours drive to Bournemouth. It is a modern cottage, it has everything you would need with such a comfy double bed you wouldnt want to get out of.

Unfortunately there was work going on ( ie ) fencing ,and refurbishing the owners. house, so we found it very disturbing, however, it was all sorted,and you have to except traffic noise. We did meet the owner ,who was absolutely charming ,and she was very simpathetic with our " plight) .

A lovely comfortable, fresh, light and airy modern cottage with everything you could need for your stay. Sian and family were very welcoming, and we had a really enjoyable stay. You will need a car, as everything is a short drive from the cottage.

Spacious and very clean, lots of parking space, nice views and quiet. In the evening you had deer come into the garden to eat the fallen apples. Thoroughly recommended.

This cottage is situated in an ideal location. It was in a clean condition and the beds were very comfortable, however, the owners did not make any effort to welcome our family and their were little details which made our stay only satisfactory and improvements are necessary.

The cottage was bright and airy, clean and well decorated. The main bedroom was spacious with plenty of storage and both the en suite and main bathroom were a good size. Location was good,in the countryside but not too far away from the shops and local pubs.
