STUNNING DETACHED HOLIDAY HOUSE NESTLING IN 800 ACRES OF DORSET FARMLAND

Stylishly restored in 2016 this barn conversion, which is situated down a quiet lane in a rural setting boasts far reaching countryside views from the accommodation and garden courtyard.

Dorset’s beautiful landscape of rolling hills and oak lined fields affords wonderful walking, there are a network of footpaths directly from the property. The area offers a wealth of pretty villages, sandy beaches and a coastline which has world heritage status. The towns of Dorchester, Sherborne and Yeovil are easily accessible. There are many National Trust properties to visit and also the popular seaside towns of Weymouth with its sandy beach and the harbour town of West Bay. In addition to this there are many attractions including Monkey World, Abbotsbury Swannery, gastro pubs and restaurants.

The accommodation is set on one level and offers TWO bedrooms: both with smart TV, 1 super-king-size with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC and 1 super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into a twin on request at time of booking) with en-suite wet room with shower and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan with smart TV, DVD and iPod dock. Kitchen area, with electric oven and hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Outside: large enclosed gravelled garden with south facing patio, seating, BBQ and shed for storing bikes, surf boards etc. Amenities: ample off-road parking. Bed linen, towels, electric, underfloor heating and Wi-Fi included. Regret no smoking. 1 dog welcome, further small dog by arrangement. Additional info: ramp to the front door. The super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom will be made up as a double unless a twin is requested at time of booking. Secure storage available for bikes. Outside tap for muddy boots and paws. Location: beach 15 miles, shops and pubs 2 miles.

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage in quiet rural location. It is about 45 minutes from the coast so not quite ideal if this is your priority.

A fabulous property in a wonderful rural location. Superbly equipped with everything needed for a relaxing holiday. Accessible for my son who uses a wheelchair with a marvelous walk in shower. Our dog was even provided for with a towel and snacks as well as the fists by Nutmeg. We have already booked to return.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful setting - even when it's raining! Comfortable sofas and beds, great showers and a kitchen with all mod cons! If you're looking for a relaxing holiday with a bit of luxury then this is is the cottage for you. Worthy of its 5 stars.

Of all the holiday cottages we have been to the Cowshed is absolutely the most stunning, very tasteful decoration and gorgeous location. Everything is top quality, the bed was so comfortable and obviously a quality mattress. Smart TV / DVD, everything you'd expect from a home. We enjoyed sitting looking over the fields with a glass or two. Our dog Read moreloved the location,walks from the cottage to local pubs for meals. The Chetnole Inn and The Kings Arms in Thornford both have amazing food. Hide

This is a lovely holiday accommodation. Set in great countryside but close enough to shops bars beach etc. Love the two super king bedrooms which are comfortable. The treats for the dogs was a nice touch. Friendly people. Their dog Nutmeg visits daily. Well equipped if you cook for yourself. Would recommend. Very clean and tidy. Well presented. Absolutely stunning place. We lucked out with the weather and so got to sit out in the garden watching both sunrise and sunset every day which was bliss. Location might have been an issue with bad weather but we just loved relaxing. We found the space perfect for four adults (two edlerly with mobility issues) and a small dog. Beautiful Cottage in rural setting with nice views. The Cottage was warm and the beds were very comfortable, making for a lovely relaxed weekend away.

We had an excellent break in a very comfortable and peaceful setting. Be prepared to explore the immediate area with suitable walking gear, and don't forget to take binoculars, as there are plenty of birds to spot. Pubs and other things to do within reasonable commute.

We could not have had a more relaxed week. The Cowshed is highly recommended. Everything we needed on hand. Right in the heart of the countryside, but so many places to visit locally. We would rate this a 5 star .

The Cowshed is a comfortable well appointed property, all on one level, with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Having an ensuite bedroom at each end of the property gives privacy for two couples or, as in our case, two friends. The views from the property are beautiful, giving a very rural feel although near to the main Yeovil to DorcesteRead morer road. We would definitely return. Hide

Perfect property to get away from it all. Very quiet location in the country side with beautiful scenery. The property has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The coast is about a 40 minute car ride away, but there are nice walks in the local lanes which can be narrow so watch out for cars !! Would consider staying here again.

Having been renting holiday cottages for at least 40 years I can honestly say that this is the best one yet. Everything was just perfect and nothing could be faulted. The owners must be congratulated on the very high standard.
