Situated on the edge of a 40 acre nature reserve and the Essex coast, the semi-detached cottage is approached via a private drive and is in the owners' grounds. An ideal location for nature lovers, artists and walkers.  This stunning cottage has been beautifully restored to offer a luxurious rural retreat.

The village of Great Holland, offers some lovely walks straight from the property, including not only the reserve next door but Frinton Beach across the fields as well as a farm shop. The seaside towns of Frinton-On-Sea and Walton-On-The-Naze are close by and offer, a choice of shops and places to eat. Frinton-On-Sea offers the perfect seaside day out with its sandy beach, promenade colourful Victorian-style huts (some available to hire), lawn tennis, golf & cricket clubs; Walton-On-The-Naze, well known for its pier, being the second longest in the country, its yacht club and marina, The Naze, also offers fantastic walks, nature reserve, bird & seal watching to name a few. Further afield is the lovely Beth Chatto Gardens at Elmstead Market, on your way to the town of Colchester with the castle and the magnificent Tudor Layer Marney Towers. Visit Constable Country and view the scenes and houses painted by John Constable and Sir Alfred Munnings' house and Museum.

Guest entering this unique accommodation, the main entrance hall leads to a kitchen/dining area, a well equipped kitchen having a built in electric oven with and electric hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with ice compartment, seating and table for two people. A low door way takes you through to a cosy lounge area with Sky TV and DVD player. The spacious master bedroom with an adjustable double bed, exposed timber beam and French doors leading to a private patio and lawn area. The en suite shower room comprises of shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin with vanity unit. Steep stairs lead to the first floor where you will find a snug area the granary, ideal for relaxing and reading with views over the garden.

Outside: A patio with garden furniture and sun loungers, BBQ .Relax in the hot tub and admire the countryside views. A lawn garden. To the front of the property off road parking.

Perfect cottage for rest and relaxation. Warm comfortable and well equipped without being fussy. We were there when the weather was mixed but it didnt deter from us having the most lovely time. Thoroughly recommend.

Lovely cottage and great location. Tracy met me at the gate and showed me around the cottage. Nice views over the peaceful garden with seating to enjoy an alfresco lunch or drink and read a book. Just be aware of the low doors and narrow stairway only banged my head a few times.

We had a wonderful week using Great Holland Mill as a base to explore Essex and Suffolk. The property was immaculate, well=equipped and in a fantastic location. Tracy and her human and animal family made us feel very welcome and were really helpful with knowledge about the history of their property and the surrounding area. The addition of green woRead moreodpeckers, 8 baby partridge, bats and a jay observed in the garden were an added bonus. We would definitely like to visit Great Holland Mill again. Hide

Set in a secluded garden the cottage is ideal for couples. The garden has tables and chairs for dining and the view of the wildlife makes it more interesting. The cottage is well appointed and has a good range of equipment if you actually like self catering on holiday and we do. Lovely walks and great beaches. We would definitely go back

Great cottage for time to relax, lovely to have French doors from the bedroom to patio for that early morning cuppa, loads of space for the 2 of us, great eateries a short drive away. just mind your head on the doorways.

The cottage was in a delightful location with fantastic views. Very easy to get to beautiful walks in easy reach. Deer, rabbits, pheasants all seen from the bedroom doors. Very warm welcome from our hosts and everything we needed.
