A perfect romantic retreat in a tranquil spot, this beautiful and cosy cottage offers couples a spacious, comfy and traditional holiday home which nestles in the heart of the Norfolk countryside.

This beautiful retreat is ideally situated in the small village of Horningtoft in the heart of rural Norfolk. Resting on the edge of a working farm, this is a perfect base to roam the English countryside and explore the beauty of north Norfolk. Within a short drive are plenty of fantastic attractions including Holkham Hall, Sandringham House, Houghton Hall and Castle Acre Priory, and there’s a choice of tranquil nature reserves to explore. Nearby towns and villages worth discovering include Hunstanton, Brancaster, Massingham, Burnham Overy Staithe and the historic market town of Fakenham. A little further afield you can enjoy the North Norfolk Steam Railway, the Norfolk Broads, Go Ape and the Dad's Army museum.

On entering this beautiful single-level barn conversion you will find yourself in the stunning open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which features plenty of beautiful original features including exposed beams, a cathedral ceiling and a traditional wood burner set in a brick fireplace, and which benefits from underfloor heating. With plenty of comfy seating and TV, the spacious and cosy lounge is perfect for relaxing in at the end of a fabulous day exploring this glorious area. You will also find a charming dining area, and the stylishly designed traditional kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. You will also find a light and cosy double bedroom with a super-king-size double bed, TV/DVD, dressing room and a large en-suite shower room with WC. There is also an additional WC.

Stepping outside, you will find a charming enclosed courtyard with a small dog kennel – you do not have to use the kennel as one dog is welcome inside. There are four parking spaces: two on the driveway and two off-road spaces in front of the cottage. There is also a covered porch ideal for storing bikes.

Please note, the property is connected to another building but this is used very rarely by the owner. While you are staying here, you will have exclusive use of the courtyard and the parking.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20 for up to 7 nights, £40 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20 for every week or part week thereafter.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Just want to say the Cartshed was wonderful so much space, The bed was just so comfortable, the only thing I would say is that the shower was not very powerful - it was a lovely big shower cubicle but you had to stand right under the shower head to get wet. Its just a comment as I would have no hesitation to stay there again. Just so lovely and relRead moreaxing. My dog Penny thought it was lovely too. Thank you. Hide

The Cartshed was an amazing property very spacious & well equipped. We had a lovely week there with the log burner going in the evening. It was very dog friendly with the enclosed courtyard.

What an amazing place to stay the Cartshed is. Everything you need and more. Arriving on a dark, damp foggy evening to find the Cartshed warm and cosy with twinkling lights was wonderfully welcome. Bailey, our 16 week old cavapoo's first holiday and he greatly enjoyed running along the beach at Brancaster and Wells.

Well equipped and comfortable. Furniture is really comfortable. Very well looked after. Excellent kitchen. Wifi was adequate, but my mobile router with a SIM card gave me 100+ mbps on my laptop via the good mobile signal here. Great shower, comfortable bed. Masses of wardrobe space. Very warm. The Cartshed has set the standard for future bookings. It will be hard to match. Space and comfort and perfect for the dog, especially with the enclosed courtyard. Appreciated the local information and comments from previous visitors which lead us to The Dabbling Duck at Great Massingham superb. A beautiful property. Very comfortable and roomy. A real home from home. We loved this beautiful property. Quiet, comfortable, roomy with everything we could need. We would love to stay there again. Norfolk has a lot to offer and demands future visits.
